About DNP123

DNP123 was founded in 2015 by Derek Lyons and Aaron Santos with generous support from the EMERGE Foundation and Simpson College. DNP123 continually expands and improves its core IP. A provisional patent covering DNP123's patched nanoparticles was assigned in July 2015, with a international patent filed in July 2016. Full ownership of the patent and all IP is assigned to DNP123.

Aaron Santos (President, Cofounder, CIO)

Derek Lyons (VP, Cofounder, CTO)

Aaron Santos is a PhD physicist and data scientist. He earned a BS in physics from MIT and a PhD in Physics from Boston University. Santos worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Glotzer Group at UMich, and has held faculty positions at various colleges, most recently Simpson College. 

Derek Lyons (VP, Cofounder, CTO) is a synthetic biochemist and Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Simpson College. He received a BS in chemistry from Simpson College in 2007 and a PhD in Chemical Biology from the University of Michigan in 2012. 

Todd Kielkopf (Treasurer and Chief Administrative Officer)

Todd Kielkopf earned a BA in finance and economics from the University of Northern Iowa and a MS in Business Administrative Sciences from Iowa State. He is the executive director of The Emerge Foundation, hosted at Simpson College in Iowa.
